Losing weight, feeling strong and weak at the same time.

Is it normal to feel strong and weak at the same time when losing weight? Is this an adjustment phase? I do a lot of boxing and cardio. I feel like I can run longer distances no problem, but at the same time feel like I’m not as strong as I was. When I spar and box, I can feel my punches are faster and I feel my punches are stronger/more accurate but I also feel like I’m not as strong as I was before losing weight.

I haven’t lost a significant amount of weight I don’t think. I was at 178-180 at the beginning of the year and now I’m around 155/under 160. Idk, it just feels weird. Not necessarily bad, but great, but also great and just weird.

I have felt similar. I would not change anything or take a break. A few days of higher food intake would probably shake that feeling, but I see no reason to, unless you were going to compete.

And that weight loss is absolutely significant, when you don’t weigh a lot to begin with. Very impressed. Keep it up. 👊👏

I’m a bit confused…. You say your punches are faster and feel they’re stronger/more accurate, but then don’t feel as strong. Do you mean like your punches are stronger? But you feel like lifting weight or say pushing someone who is hugging you away you’re weaker?

If you fast before or leading into training that’ll have a big impact upon your training performance potentially. You’ll tire quicker, therefore probably not feel as strong.

I went from 107kg to 90kg in about 4-5 months a few years back and whilst I felt way better I definitely noticed I wasn’t as strong. Eating definitely helps with strength!!
