Losing weight in not the same places as I gained it

I have been doing IF for about 6 months and have lost 30 lbs. I feel great. This is very sustainable for me and I know I can do this long term. I exercise regularly, running and doing strength training.

I gained these 30 lbs I lost during Covid. However, I’m not losing the weight in the areas I gained it. My face looks much thinner now than it did before. I assume maybe it’s partially age related. I am 42 now and gained the weight starting at age 39. Maybe my face is just changing as I age. I’m still hanging on to some lower abdomen weight too. Curious if this has happened for other people? Am I just getting old?

Answer

Cortisol, the stress hormone, targets fat storage in your gut and also prevents fat burning from happening in the gut.

You have to actively find ways to reduce the stress in your life through reducing stressors, play and active meditation.
