I’ve been doing ADF and sometimes it’s easy, other times it’s not. Is there any drawback to having just protein/fat say, omad on what has been my fasting days? I’m finding my energy levels for intense weightlifting isn’t there on fasting days despite electrolyte consumption. I was considering doing the modified ADF where some folks eat 500 calories or less on fasting days and just make it eggs or some steak or something. Thank you.
No, that’s by far the best strategy. Since you never have large insulin spikes and you are never really out of ketosis, you essentially skip the first 16-20 hours of each fast that serve to put you back into ketosis. A big bonus is that you also skip the keto flu.
For weight loss, it is qualitatively as if you were constantly fasting, although the calories you consume of course decrease your deficit.
