Low carb electrolyte break fast?

I do a fasted commute 25km each way in the heat. Perth WA.

Will consuming a low carb electrolyte drink break my fast, it comes out to 9 cal? Endura low carb rehydration is the brand.

I am taking it because I have been getting headaches after a ride.

Clean fasters will say that anything with flavour (and sweetener) will break your fast. However, the headaches you are experiencing post ride aren’t great either. You could try just water and then some salts under your tongue when you get to the office along with LOTS of water in the office. I’ve also used salt pills in the summer post long rides. I took some at 27 hr fasted and they caused GI distress – they say to take with food. Sticking to water on the way is likely more critical. I’ve seen people post about flavourless, calorie-free electrolyte additions but I expect their taste is off putting. They are also not available for me to try Canada.

I’ve been giving this topic a lot of thought because I ride in the summer and rely on electrolytes on long weekend rides. I’m inclined to think that I will use the flavoured electrolytes with stevia that I used before starting IF. Before I used electrolytes I was plagued by headaches and struggled to recover post ride in our hot, humid summers.

I look forward seeing the responses from more experienced fasters.
