Hi Everyone,
After reading Dr. Fung’s books, it’s clear that he advocates a low-carb diet. In his Obesity Code book, he talks about looking at food’s glycemic index/load as a guideline for foods to look at to eat. Also, in his obesity code cookbook, he talks about having beans and sometimes lentils as a source of protein. Incorporating those into my diet would be pretty great (in moderation).
It seems like MOST people in this sub follow a keto diet around here with IF. Does anyone have success with eating a moderately low-carb diet with about 100-125ish grams a day of natural and fiber rich carbs?
Thank You!
While I often enjoy keto-ish meals, I find a low-carb lifestyle to be more sustainable overall. I try to prioritize avoiding refined carbs and don’t really sweat the carbs from whole veggies and fruits. I was doing that for a while and felt a little ridiculous for being afraid to eat an apple or sweet potato. I find that if I eat whole foods, it’s actually difficult to eat over 80 to 100 carbs a day. Alcohol and refined carbs are the real culprits for me.
