Low energy when fasting

Just wondering if anyone has any tips for feeling very tired and sluggish while fasting? I usually do 18:6 fasting but i work a very physical job and find it very hard to stick to because i feel so tired and run down throughout the day. I usually end up breaking my fast early and eating and feel instantly better. Consuming caffeine during the fasting time also doesn’t help. Is this my body telling me i need to eat? But why cant i just burn fat for energy instead of food? Would taking electrolytes help? Thanks

Answer

Yes, consuming electrolytes could be the answer to your problem. I work physical 12hr shifts and get by on one cup of coffee and one serving of electrolytes. A low carb diet will also help with energy fluctuations.
