Maintaining weight + fasting

I have been fasting for 24 hours once every week for the past few months. I have a number of injuries (from a well spent youth) and some other health issues, and have found that fasting has helped me manage inflammation and some of the stomach problems I suffer.

I don’t want to lose any weight. My weight is healthy and I naturally tend towards being underweight. Over the past few months of fasting I have noticed a reduced appetite, a desire not to eat sweet foods etc. This has resulted in me dropping a few kilos that I wish I hadn’t!

I would appreciate any experience/guidance/tips you may have for maintaining body weight whilst still fasting. Thank you in advance! I have learned so much from this sub and am looking forward to contributing

Answer

I’d have a think about different foods and their impact on satiety. For example, for those of us trying to lose weight, eating nuts at the start of our eating window can reduce eating throughout the window. As such, you’d want to eat them only at the end of your window.

Answer

Try adding calorie dense foods in your regular diet, whole eggs, butter, olive oil, high fat meats, cheese etc. These things are high in calories even when you eat less of these. It’ll help you hit your calorie goal easily. Things with more natural fat will help.
