Mediterranean diet and IF

My GP has recommended that the best mix for my high ish cholesterol is mixing IF with Mediterranean diet. Anyone in this sub using this combo? How are you finding it? I’d imagine the high amounts of olive oil would be helpful for satiety, and the diet has been shown to promote cognitive and cardiovascular health, so it makes sense to include a brain boosting diet with an eating regime that promotes longevity. Most posts here seem too be a keto/IF combo so I’m keen to hear from people doing Mediterranean/IF.

How has your experience been? Any tips for a newbie?

Answer

Same. I don’t follow any diet strictly, but generally eat in the Mediterranean style, even prior to Starting IF five months ago. I find they pair really well together! Deviating too much is when I get very hungry.

Answer

My wife and I almost follow the Mediterranean diet exclusively without trying to. When I combine it with IF 16:8 ( trying to get more 18:6) it works wonders. Obviously though the best way though when it comes to managing your cholesterol is to really watch what you eat. Read those nutrition labels.
