I see the check-in posts, but normally don’t feel comfortable posting there because the language seems to indicate the subject should be a longer fast.

“Are you starting a fast today?” Well, yes. Every day. I don’t do the long-term fasts. I fast for at least 15 hours a day, sometimes going up to OMAD. I’m not going for days at a time.

Maybe we could have a discussion of the week instead, or in addition to, the check-in? There are a lot of discussions we could have, such as:

Effects of fasting on your cycle/fertility? Why do so many sites say women shouldn’t fast as long as men? What is everyone doing to avoid the loose skin issue? Are you seeing weaker hair/nails or dry skin since starting fasting, and what can be done about that? What are your go-to things when you are fasting and too hungry to continue without anything, but you don’t want to completely break and have a full meal (like you might have some broth, things like that)? When do you buy new clothes? Do you wait to buy a new wardrobe at certain milestones, or just get by with thrift store finds? How do you deal with a partner who is afraid things will change if you lose too much weight? What if losing the weight doesn’t fix what you think it will? How do you fast and build muscle at the same time? Do you keep fasting if you are sick? Has fasting changed anything unexpected for you, like your sleep habits? Are you just fasting or doing more, like exercising or keeping to a special diet, like keto? How do you handle period cravings? Do you go easier on fasting when you are on your period?

I would just love to see more activity here. There used to be, for a while. And now I forget about this sub except for the weekly check-ins.

By the way, I am down around 25 pounds or so. Just got under 260 this morning! I love fasting, and how it still lets me eat what I want, for the most part. Within reason of course. Still need to keep it in the 1200-1500 calorie range to lose, but that is part of why fasting is such an invaluable tool for me.

Sorry for the ramble, and if I have overstepped or anything. Just some thoughts I had; take ‘em or leave ‘em.
