Excessive Energy drink consumption has been linked to pancreatitis https://www.eventscribe.com/2018/ACG/ajaxcalls/PosterInfo.asp?efp=RFNSWFFHSFY2NDI0&PosterID=162352&rnd=0.2438452

Is this due to the sugar or some other component in them? Don’t know. One energy drink per day doesn’t seem a cause for worry though. Coffee should be healthy in moderation, and as long as you’re sleeping well and feel good, you should be good to go.

Answer

That amount of caffeine can be detrimental on your sleep. I highly suggest lowering the amount and not consuming any after 1pm. Caffeine has a half-life of 6-8 hours which means in that time, half the amount of caffeine is still in your system. This effects many many peoples sleep habits for the worst. Proper sleep is super important, almost more import than what you eat. Not sleeping well can cause all sorts of long term effects

Answer

If you must have some afternoon caffeine, I’d suggest sticking with tea or coffee. Energy drinks can definitely have a number of repercussions, like kidney stones and more. You gotta remember they’re basically soda, which is never beneficial, PLUS a ton of caffeine. Also the daily cost of a $2+ can isn’t great, when you can just make a 50 cent cup of coffee
