month long fasting

Hi im hoping to do a month long fast starting the new year and just needed some final advice, im quite new to fasting but have done several shorter week long fasts. the non eating part isnt such an issue as is the emotional states i can find myself in so was wondering if anyone had any tips with how to alleviate these symptons and be okay with the feelings while not being able to subdue them with any sort of food. kind regards.

Hi there! I’m about to do the same thing in January too! From I’ve researched it’s going to be tough. So you should get electrolyte powder for those slaty cravings and days you need to be replenished , psyllium powder/fiber powder for the days you can’t push past the hunger. Coffee or black tea, you could use cream if you want but if you want zero calorie month you can a sugar free sweetener. For me it’s always the first day when starting thats the hardest. You need to keep your mind off food. So keep busy don’t do things that are too strenuous but be active and stay in groups. Best of luck!! <3

I am fasting to Feb 1st. It’s difficult to get around the mind capture of food because I still wind up cooking for my family. I play mental games with myself, because emotion is a big part of satiation for me. I will wear a charm as a reminder, dedicate the day to someone I love, reaffirm my desires while I exercise, even ritualize certain habits around what I do in the kitchen. The idea is to fill the void of mealtime with other things that are even more emotionally rewarding. Sometimes it’s difficult to remember that my desire is much more important than a simple want in any given moment, so I develop these games and tokens of accomplishment, like collecting moments. Every time I cook and pass on a meal, I give gratitude for that temperance and discipline. There are so many ways to turn something into a “charm” that can be used as a token of returning to ones desire. What works for me is channeling the emotion into new kinds of satiety, gratification, and good feels, rather than the kind food brings. I hope it helps you too.
