I would highly recommend you try using Glycine, it’s an amino acid which is a game changer for helping you stay asleep , it’s called an inhibitory amino acid meaning that it relaxes your brain, it works good when you first try it & even better with time! i use 3 to 5 grams an hour before sleep. i would also recommend using a sleep app on your phone, i use sleep by android, i’m sure there will e a good one for apple phones.
I feel for you, I have the same sleep issue. And yes, I have a much easier time going to bed on an empty stomach than waking up and not eating. So I usually eat between 7 and 3 pm. Unfortunately it means making dinner (when it’s my turn) and not eating. Luckily my wife has kind of gotten used to it.
