My Experience with Water Fasting so far

Last month I watched The Science of Fasting and was very impressed. I had an understanding that “starving” yourself is not healthy and wasn’t even aware of the benefits of fasting. I was going to do a 21 day water fast but decided to start slowly. I only fasted for 7 days and the results were pretty good. I did it mostly for my body to heal and for spiritual reasons. For the past two/three years I’ve felt numbness throughout my arm and hand and last month it worsened. I would wake up and my fingers would lock when I made a fist. I had to pry my fingers with my other hand. I went to get my arm massaged thinking it was a nerve but was told I damaged my carpal tunnel and would need surgery to heal it. I was also told I have arthritis (I’m 20 years old)

The first week of January is when I started my water fast. On day three I no longer had pain and numbness in my arms/hands. My skin cleared up and I lost 10 pounds (I did not work out but was constantly moving from doing daily tasks). After fasting I ate moderately but this past week I ate toooooo much meat 😬 so I did gain 5 pounds since the 7th of this month. Apart from that I still have no pain/numbness in my arm or wrist. I strongly believe that fasting can heal and now I see why fasting is frowned upon by pharma.
Anyways, I want to fast again next month and work my way up to 21 days. The seven days flew by awfully well. I didn't feel fatigued, no headaches, I wasn't moody and didn't feel like I was "starving". My pastor told me it's best if I start off slowly since I've never fasted before. I did take his advice and stopped after a week.
I have made BIG changes to my diet. I used to eat meat daily but have lowered my intake to once or twice a week and am hoping to reduce it again after my second fast. I don't drink sugars as much as I used to. I've been drinking lemonade however every Sunday but mostly water and tea(no added sugar).

I’m also more active. I am starting to work out and I am motivated to be a healthier person.

I'm thinking next month I should fast for 12 days, 16 days in March and 21 days in April. I'd like to know what y'all have done in the past or plan on doing in the near future.

I forgot to mention I started my days off with two spoons of olive oil and drank it down with warm water. I didn’t drink any tea during my fast.

In case anyone is wondering I’m 5’8” and I weighed 257 in December and am currently at 237 (I was at 232 on the 8th of January but have since gained 5 pounds).
