My goal is to lose 5 pounds a week

Is it reasonable to think I could lose 5 pounds a week with consistent dry fasting? I was thinking of dry fasting 2-3 days and then the rest of the week eating light and healthy to maintain the weight loss. Do you have a better routine to recommend? I just want something that I can stick to

Answer

I was able to consistently lose .5 lbs per day on OMAD (24 hour fasts). . 1 lb on a 48 hour fast. My recommendation is to be very strict on your feeding days and you can likely do it. Mine were coffee/ water fasts at the time. You should be good. This is assuming you have plenty to lose.

2-3 days you probably won’t lose 5 lbs a week, but that’s a good goal to have. It’s the consistency that matters, and that’s a good amount to focus on. It’s short enough that you won’t need to be hyper focused on refeeding, but long enough that you’ll be able to lose weight if you keep it up.

I think that’s a good plan - stick with it and you will achieve your weight loss goal with time and patience!

Answer

I only had 35 to lose at the start and lost 12 pounds in one week of water fasting, then 5 pounds in 2.5 days of dry fasting. Should be easy to lose 5 pounds a week if you’re dry fasting, but stick with low-calorie OMAD (not ideal if you’re trying to lose weight) or 48/72-hour rolling fasts with light refeeds if you want the best/fastest outcome.
