need advice from those who work from home

how do you do it?!?! my fasting regiment has gone completely out the window now that I work from home, 2 feet from my kitchen at all times.

i’ve started going to the gym and burning way more calories to try to offset the calories I’m taking in, but ultimately I don’t think I’m doing myself any justice here. Any tips or advice on how to keep myself from boredom eating just because I can? i’m at the point now where I’ve even considered appetite suppressants because the only way I had control before was by not being home. :(

editing to add: i work second shift 3p-12a. late night munchies get me.

Answer

I work from home and my biggest help is having several cups of hot tea throughout the day. More than one cup of black coffee on an empty stomach makes me so nauseated so I experimented with different teas until I found some I really liked.

Odd - when I work from home I find its easier to fast. Im not passing any restaurants, coworkers are not eating around me at lunch time and plenty of other things to get up and do when at home.

Drink more water, coffee, tea - get up and walk around or adjust your fasting time :)

I legit have no food in the home except for food for my dinners. I do OMAD and I have a weekly menu on the fridge and I buy for only my 1 meal.

I also have 1 cup of coffee in the morning, drink plenty of water, and go on walks through out the day.

It definitely depends on the job and what’s expected of you while working. Interestingly enough, my work from home job didn’t allow me much time to snack throughout my shift, unless it was lunch or break time. I was constantly taking calls and talking, so it’d be hard to eat!

However, my best advice is to drink as MUCH water as you can. That definitely helped me, along with the fact that i didn’t eat until i got off work.

Maybe slip in peanut butter on a slice of bread before you work, maybe that’ll hold you until you get off.

I don’t go out of my room unless I have to do a bio break, and make black coffee… because since I’m in IF (36h - OMAD), I always feel sleepy, like I’m on hibernating mode. I have everything in my room… trainer mat, water, and I informed everyone at home not to call me to eat. I also stick it in my brain that I need to do this for myself.

You can do it!! Good luck!🍀

Answer

I WFH, and I have a family so I can’t not have food. I reverse it. Knowing that if I really really really need the food, it’s there, gives me comfort. If I had to be out all day and couldn’t always have access to food I think I’d want to eat more before I left and when I first get home.
