So this is the first time, I am able to hit my goal. I feel energetic and feel like i can go couple more days should I go on or break my fast? I am just concerned about longterm effects of extended fasting on metabolism
I think as long as you’re supplementing your minerals, keep going. I like to drink Black Oxygen when I am fasting humic and fulvic minerals and 70+ micronutrients that pass the blood brain barrier. I also drink my MSM sulfur crystals (dissolved in water) and take Angstrom magnesium, plankton for electrolytes, and a few other things. Body is very receptive to absorption in a fasted state.
Even if you do manage to fast long enough to lower your metabolism (it would take far longer than 90 hours to do this unless you are already skin and bones), within a year of returning to normal eating you would probably be 100% back to normal metabolically. It always goes back to normal for everyone eventually for those people who actually do push the limits of the human body. And besides no matter what kind of temporary changes you have on your hormones/metabolism the simple facts are that if you eat certain ways (keto/carnivore), you limit your eating windows, you limit your total calories, you exercise/lift enough, you will lose weight. So have some confidence you can never really damage your metabolism long term, it is all about adaptation. And besides short term changes in adaptation there are long term benefits to fasting in general.
