Need Help With Low Energy

38 M, very low body fat stores to start with (not doing this for weight reasons) Previous best was a 100hr dry fast, with some 72 and 96 water or dry fasts mixed in. Nothing more than a day since last Sept though.

I’m on day 9 of a water fast (goal is either 30, 40, or 45 depending on what my body tells me,) and low energy is becoming an issue. I’ll admit that my sleep hasn’t been great the entire time and I’m working on that, though I can’t say I feel “sleepy,” or “tired.” I simply lack energy and the accompanying motivation to do things. I don’t feel like doing much of anything, and the sluggishness is becoming an issue.

I did some light calisthenics a couple days ago when I was up for it because I don’t want to waste away muscle since I’m already thin, and I’ve been trying to get plenty of sun now that its out. Keeping hydrated with RO filtered water and some Himalayan salt. Doing slow, medium capacity, nasal breathing. I don’t think I’m detoxing really, at least not as a reason for the lack of energy.

Any suggestions for a way to boost energy and motivation to do physical tasks?? I’ll occasionally get a little wave of ‘normal’ where I can bang a couple things out, but that isn’t cutting it!

I upped my electrolytes (specifically magnesium) as well as total water intake, and I’m feeling MUCH better today.

I was ready to break my fast early based on how I felt, but I’m glad I first looked a little deeper into electrolyte needs on a water fast and saw I was low outside of the sodium.

These aren’t my recommendations so I can’t vouch for them, but what I found elsewhere on Reddit:

3,000mg Sodium, 2,000mg Potassium, 1,000mg Magnesium.

I took some mag-citrate I already have and ordered some potassium chloride (the only potassium supp I could find without any other additives)

I drink instant coffee. It tastes like shit though. I am just drinking it for caffeine and diuretic effect. I’m hoping I can get to 52.4kg again today. Then I am really going to not eat anything until I reach 50.0kg.

For me when I am fasting and I am really fatigued I need more electrolytes. I personally drink mineral water during these times and I have drank broth (could be considered breaking fast, but it is something that I do if I am very fatigued and it have a headache.

In my honest opinion this happened to me 2 days ago, I was on day 5 of my water fast and I went on a light walk with my sister. As i’m walking , I begin to black out and my energy levels are very low. I just ended my fast there and got some rest, but if someone does know how to boost energy I will gladly like to hear it!
