Never done a 24 hour fast before. Advice?

I’m thinking about doing a 24 for hour fast, once a week, every Saturday. I’ve never done a 24 hour fast before. Is fasting the sort of thing you have to ease into? Or could I just suddenly jump into a 24 hour fast? If I can jump into it, I would prefer to do so, since 16:8 fasting doesn’t really fit into my work schedule.

Also, any advice? And is it a good idea to exercise on fasting days?

Answer

I mean, how long are you fasting for now? If you’re doing 18-20, then sure stretch it to 24. But if you’re not really fasting, I’d ease into it, maybe go an hour longer each week til you hit the 24.

Personally I love fasted exercise. Nothing better than a great workout followed by an epic feeding

Answer

I just did a 24 hour fast for the first time. It went from 6pm yesterday to 6pm today. I did have moments of hunger around 12pm and 4pm, but rested for those periods until the hunger went away. Had plenty of water, like the usual 6-8 glasses, and about 1/8 tsp of salt with lemon juice in two of those glasses of water throughout the day.
