New to 14 Day Fast

Hey everyone!

The maximum I have ever done is a 7 day water fast.

I did my research here on this sub wayyy back and read that to go any longer, salts are necessary.

I’m planning a 14 day fast and thought to ask the experts. What do I need to do it? Can I stick to just water?

Answer

You can stick to water but most find a bit of salt often helps if you ever feel light headed. A few pinches of salt can alleviate those issues. If you decide to go light on the minerals make sure to break the fast slowly, probably with bone broth, to avoid any issues with refeeding syndrome. Should be ok but 14 days is long enough that it is better to go slow and be safe just in case.

Typically I start adding pinches of salt starting on day 3 or 4 depending on how I feel. Sometimes later in the fast.
