New to IF 16:8 M(74) SW 220lbs

I just started IF this week. I am on day 4 and everything is going well. However, I expect to have a problem early next week. Currently my eating schedule is from 10-6. Next week I am going out of town for work and we have dinners set up starting at 7.

How do I handle this? Should I push my start time back? Is this going to cause a problem?

Answer

Be flexible when you must - the goal is to live IF, not set rigid arbitrary boundaries; over time you’ll figure out if there are social activities where you can “get away” with some sparkling water and those you really need to partake in.

Try to push the beginning of your window a bit later that day and eat lighter in terms of macros, so concentrate on things like leafy greens so you can “indulge” (RELATIVELY!) during dinner. However, be smart at dinner - choose smart dishes that are ideally more protein and fat and fewer simple carbs.

Answer

If you can try to push your starting window a bit late that day, try that. I always struggle to push my starting window especially if I’ve fasted enough already from the day before.Enjoy your 7pm dinner and then start again the next day. If you can, try to do 16h of fasting, otherwise start again with your regular hours. It’s fine.
