New year plan help me out!

28m 203lbs 31% bf trying to get to 15% this year!

Used to be super fit with abs and I broke my finger in an accident and completely lost track and gained 40lbs over 3years. I used to think I could get back in shape with no problems but it’s super hard to do it…..! I hope this year be different.

Since 1/1 started 16:8 , working out Mon-Sat (weight training + cardio)

Trying to make healthy choices for diet less carbs more proteins.

Is cheat day every Sunday little too much? I heard cheat day help boost fat burning..

How should I play with the calorie intakes? Do u guys take l-carnitin? I don’t want my body to go starvation mode from too much calorie deficits.

Any advices are welcome! Thank you so much.

Cheat days help fat burning? This was on one of those blogs filled with all the ads and clickbait headlines, right? Haha. Or was that a joke?

You just really want to have your eating window after you workout and fuel accordingly. Reach your protein goals, get the appropriate complex carbs in, and make the rest up with fat. Don’t go overboard on the carbs or you’ll get hungry later.

I don’t think you need to be taking supplements. But then again I’m just a skinny guy doing IF and exercising to be healthy rather than actually trying to get size.

With that much exercise I wouldn’t go too deep into a caloric deficit. I’ve made the mistake of eating way too little for quite some time and it really showed with my energy levels. I also think despite having watched my protein intake, I’ve lost more muscle than I should have.
