Newbie with some questions about IF

So many questions, and hoping for advice on what to do or not to do from some or the experienced successful IFers.

I’m thinking 8 hours a day eat/16 hours of fasting - what has worked best for you? What hours of the day?

Can I drink basic zero calorie chicken broth during 16 hours?

Can I drink diet soda? Of course lots of water is the best!

Can I drink diet iced tea?

Did you drink alcohol on occasion outside of the fasting?

Can you change your fasting hours without issue if you have a special event come up?

I read Fast Feast Repeat, which addresses all these questions, and the information in that book has enabled my success and happiness from all the benefits of IF. I’ve heard the Obesity Code is also good. I think a book would be very helpful, and I say this bc internet searches led me to so many contradicting pieces of information. Plus I’ve referred to it every few days when I have a question. Good luck finding your IF path, and know I’ve found it easy and enjoyable
