Unfortunately, I don’t personally feel that 12-12 is no different than a normal eating schedule for a typical person. I’m no doctor or expert, though I’d give OMAD a try. Curious, what do you during your 12 hour window?
12:12 isn’t really going to get you results. Honestly, that’s not much different from a standard eating routine. I only recommend 12:12 for people brand new to IF in order to ease them into it, and even then for only like a week max.
If you want to see results then, IMO as someone who lives this lifestyle, you’ll need to do a minimum of 16:8 and, really I think 18:6 is the sweet spot. Also, be sure to keep tabs on what you’re eating. You definitely don’t have to count calories (I don’t). But you also have to realize that your feeding window is not a free-for-all.
Lastly, be sure to get in some exercise. Even something as simple as a 30 minute walk 3 times a week will have profound effects on your weight loss.
12:12 can work if your calories are dialed in.
Have you calculated your TDEE and made sure to eat at a deficit? Some of us do better with a longer fasting period, but as long as your calories are lower than your needs you can definitely lose weight sticking with a 12 hour fasting period.
