Non resistant vs resistant starch

I’ve been reading up on the benefits of resistant starch being good for you, as far as essentially being a prebiotic. But having a hard time finding anything on if non resistant starch also has it’s benefits, or is non resistant starch bad for you?

Resistant starch is treated like insoluble fiber in your gut. It’s not broken down and your gut feeds off it like fiber. I don’t know how good it is for you compared to probiotics or fermented foods. None the less I try and get some resistant starch in throughout the week by cooling any leftover rice or pasta and having it the next day for lunch

Resistant starch just means it’s more resistant to being broken down as quickly by your stomach/acid/gut.

The fact that it takes longer to break down leads to feeling fuller for longer (as body is still working on prior meal when you eat your next) leading to less calories consumed and helps avoid over consuming calories.

Non-resistant starch is fine - it just doesn’t fill you up for as long as resistant starch. If a person is trying to lose weight, adding resistant starch can help meet their goal of daily calorie deficit.
