Normal to throw up immediately after breaking a 70 hour fast

The longest fast I’ve done was 73 hours. And when I broke it I ate healthy food and didnt get sick other than bloat. Today I just broke my 70 hour fast with non healthy Mexican food and immediately got bloated then 10 minutes got a horrible stomach ache and threw up. Is this Normal to feel this way after breaking a fast with heavy food and not healthy food? I need to access if I’m getting the flu or covid or if it’s my own doing with the fasting.

Right now I feel fine and not hungry. Just extremely thirsty.

Answer

Ease into eating the next time around. Start off way lighter and ramp up over as few hours as you’re feeling like you can handle it. Just like you shouldn’t eat a ton prior to the fast, you shouldn’t pile it on after. Soup. Fruit. Steamed veg. SomePeople here who do longer fasts regularly might have some go tos that would be useful.

Answer

I throw up with electrolytes when fasting, with just water fasting, and sometimes breaking a fast. I have a hiatal hernia and experience a ton of reflux. If you happen to struggle with GERD, this could also be why. ♥️ Hope things get easier.
