Hello all, I have been IF 16:8 for a couple of years now. I find that though I have lost significant fat from my buttocks and thighs, I don’t see any change around my tummy. It’s still 40inches. I have excess fat near my abdomen, puffed face and fatty calves too. I also noticed, my arms and biceps lost muscle too. Surprisingly my body weight has been intact for more than 2 years. I am mostly vegetarian. I follow the Indian diet with a glass of Ragi porridge with 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast around 8 am. 2 jowar (Sorghum ) rotis medium sized with veggies and lentils for lunch around 1pm. I drink 4ltrs of water every single day. No coffee or tea etc. However, if i feel hungry in the evenings, I do eat a small cup of plain oats with chia seats and flaxseeds, rarely. I walk or cycle for an hour every evening. I feel extremely energetic and active compared to earlier i.e.. Before starting IF.
I am male, 42. 5’8”. 95kgs.
Can you kindly explain why I am not losing belly fat and I don’t see any muscle in my body?
Any corrections in my approach and guidance is very much appreciated.
Different people lose fat in different places first. Just stick at it and youll lose the belly fat eventually. Different people have different stubborn areas.
You just have to get to a low bodyfat percentage everywhere else and itll start to go away. For me I always hold stubbon fat in my lower back and my chest but it goes away if I get down to a low enough body fat percentage (apart from the gynocomastia around the nipples but thats probably gonna need surgery)
