NSV: completed a 16 hike!

I went on a day hike today and underestimated a few things including my ability to deal with maps before coffee 😅. I ended up completing a 16 mile makeshift loop. It took me about eight hours and a few blisters but I made it! (I overpack water so I was good on that front)

I never thought id be able to manage something like that without being a breathless melting mess at the end. My knees are rebeling due to uneven paths, but otherwise I feel way better than I ever thoughtIwould. It makes me really excited to keep hitting the trails again as I move close to my goal weight.

Congrats! That’s a huge hike for one day! I have worked up to doing 8-12 miles hikes on a regular basis. I love it.

If you haven’t already, get some knee high compression socks. They have completely transformed hiking for me. My feet used to hurt 6 miles in. Now I can do two 12s back to back on the weekend and I hardly feel any pain in my feet.
