Nutritional effect of occasional "treats"

We all know there’s food that has no place in large quantities in a healthy diet. Is there a significant difference though between someone who eats ONLY eats food that’s considered healthy and someone who largely eats healthy but occasionally, at most weekly, has a fast food meal and/or a small portion of something like sausage every other day?

I know eg. for smoking the difference between not smoking at all and having one a day is huge and i was wondering if it was the same for food

Answer

Basically the same for food yes. But the quality of said treat is the important thing.

A cake that is “shelf stable” for two weeks (aka not really food). Is not of any value to the body.

But a cake you make (or a good one from the Baker or something) made with high quality ingredients, eggs, butter, etc will have some decent nutritional value.

It’s about context and quality. Not the item itself
