Omad

Hey all! I’m attempting to do omad, but struggling not to take in a few calories during the day. I typically do a rx bar or a nut bar and maybe an apple. My goal is to shift my set weight of 140 and to lose 20lbs. Do the 200-300 cals during the day and before my meal sabotage me?

Answer

Wouldn’t it break the fasting window and not technically be OMAD if you ate a separate snack? IF works because of the ratio of eating/fasting. If you break the fast with a snack, you’ve technically started your eating window, right?

Answer

In terms of fasting and eating windows, a “meal” is any time you eat. So even an RX Bar and an apple, or just the apple, is a “meal”.

My basic understanding of “set weight” relies on not spiking your insulin as often, nor to such a degree as something with a lot of sugar/carbs would to train your body over time to a lower weight.

So, to avoid spiking your insulin, you either have to eat less often, less carbs, or less often AND less carbs.

So… in short, yeah the 200-300 calories during the day count as a meal, and you’re not in a fasted state after eating those things.
