OMAD for three days now and I've gained weight?

As the title says, I’ve been eating only one meal a day and the (electric) scale shows that I’ve gained a kilogram. I’ve noticed that I’ve been eating maybe two people’s worth of food in my meals. Should I change that or will I lose weight overtime. Thank you for your anwers.

Answer

Are you staying hydrated and having frequent/enough bowel movements? If I’m undereating by too much I tend to gain weight for a few days and then drop it all when I finally start eating a little more because I go to the bathroom much more and my body isn’t retaining water.

Answer

It’s probably just water weight. This fluctuates all the time.

Have you counted calories? It could also be that these meals you are eating are so big and calorie dense that you aren’t in a calorie deficit. Calculate how many calories your single meal is and compare that to TDEE.

Let’s say your omad put you at a 1000 calorie deficit after 3 days you would be down 3000 calories. (1lb = 3500cals) so you would not be expected to have even lost a pound yet at 3 days.
