OMAD, nutrients, and dessert

I’ve been doing mainly OMAD and have gotten down to my goal weight. Last month I injured my hamstring. Up to now, it’s finally almost better but some days it still hurts. Some days my legs in general feel weak and hurt. I researched why it was taking so long to heal and learned a few things:

  1. Lack of magnesium, potassium, and electrolytes in general.
  2. Lack of protein for an injured muscle.

I’ve now increased my electrolytes during OMAD and am incorporating more protein, including protein shakes in my eating window. I’ve been kind of eating what I want including dessert almost every day which is why I like OMAD so much.

However, I’m starting to think I should drop the sugar and dessert to eat healthier foods to get more nutrients and protein in.

My questions are:

  1. Has anyone else had muscle issues on OMAD and how did you fix it?
  2. Do you eat dessert often on OMAD?

Answer

My question to you … what is your plan for how you’ll eat when you’re done losing weight? What kind of eating plan will keep you from just gaining it all back?

Your current eating plan kinda made you sick for lack of minerals and protein. Sooooo …. maybe it’s not right for you?

Figure out a healthy way to eat, then do that in your OMAD. 🤷‍♀️
