One bad day throwing me off

Been doing IF and tracking calories for a few weeks to lose weight. Going great, the IF window makes it much easier on me Physically and mentally to stick to my calorie ceiling.

Yesterday, I messed up, went way over my calories. Today I am super bummed about it and tempted to say fuck it and just quit.

Any experience with how to get over setbacks?

Answer

Going over your calories for one day is not a big deal, in the overall scheme of things (life). Don’t use it as an excuse to quit. You, and only you, have control over that mindset.

There is nothing to “get over”, you just go right back to it, today, and carry on.

Answer

All or nothing thinking

Or

Black and white thinking

Is the root of depression, anxiety

And pretty much the root of all suffering

Work on your all or nothing thinking and all areas of your life will improve…

Maybe u need to incorporate more foods that u like (even like a Reese’s cup or something) every once in a while so u don’t feel like u have to cheat. Personally that works very well for me. I would also recommend trying to eat a similar type of food that u r craving if u have a craving that bad. For example if I want chocolate I have an apple for my sweet tooth. If I want chips I have rice for a carb. Then if I still want it after I can have a small amount of it! Everything in moderation is the best way I can find to succeed because I had a tendency to binge in the past
