If you dry fast and break the fast by drinking water, it’s ok to continue water fasting.
It is not ok to go back or forward into dry fasting from a water fast – it is quite quite hard on the body and damaging to your fast and your body. The Russian schools repeatedly warn of this and I’ve had person experience of it – not good, not fun.
It’s better and far more healthier for the body if you continue with your water fast and then break your water fast by refeeding into a recovery diet, AND THEN at some point in the future you can go start another dry fast.
Different context/fasting schedule but I’m wondering the same thing myself about breaks. I just broke a 5 day dry fast with 2 small glasses of San Pellegrino. Feeling disappointed that I didn’t last and wondering whether to get straight back on the horse now or properly hydrate for a few days then go again…
