One OMAD, two shorter fasts, or first extended fast?

I have social plans on Friday evening that would have me eating (and likely drinking some wine) from roughly 7-8 PM. Then I have brunch on Sunday morning around 10 AM, which will also likely include champagne. I have been doing OMAD, eating dinner each day, but the timing of brunch is having me consider my options:

  1. One 24 hour fast from Friday at 8 PM to Saturday 8 PM, followed by a 14 hour fast until brunch on Sunday
  2. Two 19 hour fasts: eat Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 3 PM, then Sunday at 10 AM
  3. Attempt my longest-ever fast (roughly 38 hours) and just not eat between dinner Friday and brunch Sunday. This would be ideal from a numbers perspective but not sure I should attempt my longest fast after a restaurant meal and wine.

Please no “just don’t eat or drink during these festivities” because in this instance, it’s not really possible. I am a guest of honor in both sets of plans.

I know whatever I ultimately choose won’t make or break my overall progress, but I would love to hear what this community would choose and why!

Answer

Whichever feels easiest; “easy while still effective” = sustainable. For me OMAD translates to “one meal / sitting per calendar day”. This grants me one very flexible eating window each day without having to worry about adjacent cycles and their boundaries, as by the end of each month my overall “performance” will still have averaged out to 22:2 ~ 20:4 no matter what.
