Passing out whenever going over 3 days water fast

I have been a big fan of fasting and have done mainly coconut fasts and juice fasts. The longest juice fast I’ve done is 14 days.

After reading the benefits of water fasting and the autophagy process, I attempted my first ever water fast, and had to break it after only 4 days because I fainted.

I was taking an electrolyte supplement the first time. The second time, a week later, I was using pink salt, sodium bicarb, magnesium, and nosalt. Again on the 4th day I fainted.

I cut all intense exercise, and have just been doing 10k steps per day and gentle yoga.

Has anyone dealt with this before? What could be the problem? Any advice appreciated.

Answer

I’ve accepted that five days is my max, but three is more doable on a regular basis. You may find that three is better for you, or extending fasting isn’t a good solution for your body. 10k steps is mild exercise, but that may also be the culprit.
