Physiology courses at uni differ on the impacts of dietary cholesterol vs nutrition courses?

Is this normal? A&P covered how dietary cholesterol has little to no effect on cholesterol levels in the body meanwhile majority of the nutrition courses I took taught that it does have a major role in raising cholesterol. Why so much conflicting information from an accredited uni?

Answer

It’s a hyperbolic relationship. You need to amount for baseline serum levels, baseline dietary intake, and change in dietary intake

If you have high serum cholesterol and high dietary cholesterol intake, adding more will produce minor changes. If you have low serum cholesterol and low dietary cholesterol intake, adding more dietary cholesterol will produce large changes. If you want optimal cholesterol levels you likely need to reduce dietary cholesterol to zero
