Pink Himalayan Salt

I have doing IF for about 2.5 weeks now. (F51)- I totally get the benefits of it although I was hoping I would be dropping weight faster, but I recently battled breast cancer and just stopped taking hormones. So I know I am going to have to be patient with myself as my body gets readjusted. I have found that sucking on small chunks of sea salt really curb my appetite and allow me to hold off for a little longer. I find it really helpful at night when the munchies start kicking in. My blood pressure is towards the lower end of good. Anything else I should worry about? Thoughts or suggestions? I also drink a ton of water right after.

Answer

That’s a great idea – a rock of sea salt to slowly dissolve – I’m trying that right now. Thanks for the inspiration. Could also satisfy oral fixation and help ensure drinking a little more water during the day.

Answer

You’re really just getting started now, as it takes about 3 weeks for any effects to start taking place. Stick with it, the weight will come. Have you tried sipping on chicken broth? If it’s the sodium that you’re craving. Can also help soothe the stomach and help with the transition. Would be healthier than just eating salt. There are no health benefits to pink Himalayan salt. Salt is salt. It’s just marketing.
