Some wise words from a friend of mine from back earlier this month when I started my weight loss journey with fasting:

“Why weigh yourself? Throw your expensive scale out the window and don’t look back! You are going to lose inches before you lose weight, and there is also a difference between weight loss and fat loss. Feeling better, looser fitting clothes, seeing a slimmer you in the mirror….these are Non-scale victories that no number on the scale can replace.”

Very wise words. If you feel like giving up, just remember the number on the scale doesn’t define you.

Stay strong IFL fam, and enjoy the journey.

I feel this. Thank you so much. I started fasting a month ago, can see things getting more tight, less “hanging”. I stood on the scale at my personal training today and I dropped no weight. It made me feel completely devastated. She said I had to lose weight. I really thought I did. This made me feel a lot better. Thank you.

I ditched the scale a long, long time ago. Unless you have access to a dexa scan theres just no way bits of plastic and wire hooked up to an lcd display on a bathroom floor could possibly know whats going on with you.

Mirror gainz are real gainz.

This isn’t necessarily true. I’m 306lbs down from 317, and although my size 48 pants are looser, my size 46s remain a bit too tight around my waist to be very comfortable (although I could technically wear them without much trouble).
