Potassium+Baking soda for kidneys - will it break the fast?

Hello everyone! I’m on my 4th day of a 7 day dry fasting and since yesterday I have been feeling a strong lower back pain, which might have to do with my kidneys since I had UTIs in the past.

Before starting the fast I did take 2 L of water with one teaspoon of baking soda but I don’t think it was enough to protect the kidneys.

I was wondering if I take potassium chloride and baking soda as advised in another post, and put it inside of an empty capsules with that break the fast? I wouldn’t take a sip of water or anything it would just be the capsule with the powder inside but I’m afraid that the capsule itself might break the fast or the powder too.

Should I just endure the pain or is it safe to take it?

Answer

Please don’t do that. You will do serious damage to your insides. A few years ago, Cole (Snake Diet) took potassium chloride in capsules WITH WATER on a water fast to test it out (because someone asked if they could and he didn’t know), and he gave himself a horrendously painful ulcer. I can’t even imagine what would happen if you just swallowed it with no water while on a dry fast. Maybe just break your fast to rehydrate and cool off your kidneys.
