Pretty stupid question about breaking a fast

I’ve been fasting since yesterday, and so far so good. Nothing but water. Not feeling hungry at all. But I have this one adiction about eating the “skin” of the inside of my cheeks ever since I was just a kid, so literally just now, I noticed I was doing it. Then it hit me, will this affect my results in any way? I did eat something at the end of the day. But will it affect me? It’s part of my own body. I’m also still trying to understand what exactly is “breaking a fast”. English isn’t my main language, and every single time I try to google it, all I get are results about eating food again, and… This really don’t qualify as food. Any help, reddit?

Answer

Breaking a fast. Break fast. Breakfast.

Breaking a fast means to no longer be fasting, usually by eating. Some of the benefits of fasting can be turned off by ingesting food-like products. Typically anything that has calories will do it. Doesn’t negate all of the effects of fasting, if you aren’t eating an entire meal. For instance, there is r/psmf or protein sparing modified fasting, where you can eat as low as 400 calories per day and still take advantage of some fasting benefits.
