Prolong fasting for weight loss

I’ve recently decided to get back into fasting, as I’ve always practiced intermittent fasting and some prolong fasting. But right now I’m day 2 into a 5 day water fast because I have a weigh in for the military. My max weight is 180lbs and I’m now 204. So I’m pretty over, and they can measure your body fat by taping your neck and waist (I’ve passed before) because I have a big neck but the waist measurement I’m not so confident about anymore. Any advice or tips? I’m wanting to get this weight off as soon as possible as it’s been looming over me for about a year and I’ve just gotten lucky. I’ve dropped from 225 to 165-170lbs by strict intermittent fasting and a few 24-48 hour fasts in my senior year of high school so I know fasting works tremendously and I feel good doing it when the hunger goes away after fat adaptation. Thank you for any responses

Answer

Extended fasting is the fastest method to shed weight. It is also potentially the hardest, especially if you haven’t ramped up to it (keto, carnivore, etc.)

Make sure you stay up on your e-lytes and buckle up. Get ready to embrace the suck.

How much time do you have until your weigh-in? Been there, I think I didn’t get taped for a weigh-in only once. Cardio can help, just don’t exhaust yourself so that you have to end your fast. Try to eat low-carb/keto on your eating days.

Also don’t skip the electrolytes if you’re doing a 5 day. If you find the 5 days aren’t working out, you can still have success on shorter fasts.
