The main thing is ensuring that whatever you’re buying is a complete protein (like whey or soy) & that it contains ingredients that you’re fine with. Many of the cheaper brands use artificial sweeteners & flavors which some people choose to avoid.

Answer

I use ON whey post-workout for breakfast, and the same brand casein at night on days I lift. Casein is slower to digest and is recommended for recovery during sleep by many folks on the interwebs. Optimun Nutrition is good quality and available at Costco in big sacks as well as Amazon.

I’ve heard it said that vegan proteins are not as complete as animal proteins, I’m sure someone more knowledgable will chime in on that.
