Also who says you have to eat breakfast foods for breakfast. If you’re not a breakfast person there’s no law that says you can’t eat a piece of steak, or a salad, or a baked potato for breakfast.

Protein shakes aren’t going to be the best option unless you pair it with something. I get more hungry when I drink calories rather than eat them. Do your best to eat most of your calorie intake during the day. And leave protein shakes for days when you aren’t super hungry or will be able to get a healthy snack soon after

My favorite is Garden of Life, if you’re talking about powder protein shakes. They have a couple different types. For instance, I usually alternate between the Protein blend and the Protein+Greens blend. The protein only tastes better imo but the Protein+Greens has more nutrients in it. Both blends have probiotics in it, which I’m fond of, as well as having a wide variety of vitamins and minerals. I believe they’re all made from whole food ingredients? That was another big point for me.

Quality counts here. All will contain trace amount of heavy metals, especially plant based protein. Not on purpose, but just the fact that plants absorb these metals from the soil itself. Your goal is to find brands that contain the least amount. FYI, chocolate flavoring will have a higher count than vanilla due to the cocoa itself being a plant. You can reference the NSF certified products research for more information.

Personal Opinion** I am just not a fan of plant based shakes due to the taste alone. I like to use a quality Whey Protein Isolate.

Only supplement when you have to. If you are using for gaining muscle mass be sure to eat at least three balanced whole meals and supplement in between once or twice depending on your protein requirements. Unless your huge, intaking more than 30g of protein per meal is likely a waste so keep that in mind.

All depends on your body/weight/goals.

I LOVE vital proteins. I get the chocolate kind from Costco- $30 for the large one!! I make it every day and it lasts me a few months. I mix in berries, ice, almond milk and some yogurt. But it’s great with just ice and water, too! It fills me up and makes me feel great!
