psyllium powder, help!

Hi all, very new to this and a concern of mine is getting enough fibre in my diet and so I have invested in some pure psyllium husk powder to help keep things moving. I’m also hoping that it’ll sate my hunger pangs while at work if I take it around mid day and so I can keep my fast going.

My issue is that I can’t bring myself to drink a glass of it when mixed into water, the taste is too much for me to keep from gagging!

Any tips on how to get it down? I’m thinking a concentrated shot of it followed by a large water may be the best way but I’d love some suggestions!

I have been using it for years and it sure does help my fibre intake and my outbound too! I usually have a smoothie to break my fast and psyllium husk is one of the ingredients and if it doesn’t sit too long in the glass then you can barely tell it is in there.

I take it every day at the start and end of my eating window. It has been the secret weapon and my health numbers just came back today at the best they have been in over a decade. My blood sugar was in the pre-diabetic range, but is now at a very low and very healthy range. I think the fiber has so much to do with that. Hopefully that helps motivate you.

As for drinking it - I put it in a dry cup. I add about a cup of water and stir it with a spoon vigorously as quickly as I can, and then I drink it as quickly as I can. Not all of it may come out, so I add a little water again, stir, and drink. I then chase it down with a full glass of water. The secret is to get it down before it starts to gel. You just have to push through it. You get used to it. If not, you can buy the pills, but it is much harder and more expensive to get enough that way.
