This question is for those who’ve done stretches of either strict ADF (alternate day fasting) or 2+ day water fasts. What was your sleep quality like after your fasts? Did you notice any improvements? Or was it largely the same?
I did a 48 hour fast Monday and Tuesday this week. Last night I slept through the night without waking up for the first time in a long time. I’m doing ~18:6 when I’m not fasting, so that could also be helping.
My sleep has never been good and usually gets worse when I diet. This has all been true on fasting as well, but I can say it has gotten better the more fasts I do. My sleep quality when I fast is now about the same as when I don’t (still not great).
Did a 4 day fast last week on 4 of 5 day this week and noticed an improvement in my sleep and increased energy in the mornings. I believe it’s partial to the fast and partial to the electrolytes that I take before bed.
