Question about alternate day fasting

Hi, so please be kind cos I’m still learning… but how is alternate day fasting effective? Or systems where, say, you fast on Monday and again Thursday? I remember learning the liver stores enough glycogen to supply for 24 hours and falls back on that when there isn’t caloric input. If it takes 24 hours to use up the glycogen wouldn’t anything less than 48 consecutive hours be ineffective?

(Or am I misunderstanding how quickly we burn thru glycogen?)

Thanks for your help!

Answer

With ADF (36:12) you’re reducing your overall calories by almost half depending on how much you eat on feasting days. I lost 20 pounds the first month and kept a low gki even on eating days 🙂 the second month I’ve been struggling with compliance so that’s another story 😂

Does ADF trigger autophagy? I can’t say for sure, but it certainly triggers weight loss.
