Question about bathroom habits with intermittent fasting

Apologies in advance for the detail. I’m currently doing 21:3 intermittent fasting and my 3-hour eating window is in the evening. But I’m still getting incomplete bowel movements. I would have thought this issue would go away if I’m only eating 3 hours a day. I am eating a lot of bread - perhaps that is causing it? How can I overcome this?

Answer

You could try replacing most of if not all your bread for cruciferous vegetables. Walking a few miles will stimulate a bowel movement for sure. You could try the natural human resting position, squatting heels to butt for a minute before trying. Maybe drink more water with electrolytes.

Answer

Yeah I’d say I sort of get the same things when I’m eating lots of bread too, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s it. Also not sure about your water intake but make sure youre getting the recommended amount for your weight/height. Softer slightly bruised bananas are also really helpful for any sore belly and constipation things :)

Answer

Have more fibre, take a fibre drink like Benecol or Metamucil and drink a lot of water too. Or take psyllium husk or eat bran cereal. Eat more bananas, avocados and apples.

Happy bowel, happy human :)

Answer

Add fibre and reduce bread. What worked for me - breaking the fast with a bowl of salad first then followed by a meal. Chia seeds are your best friend! Soak them in water 24hrs in advance and have it. You can even make chia seeds pudding or oatmeal or just add it in your salad/meal. I love chia seeds lemonade with stevia. Hope this works for you too!
