Question for pros

I’ve been fasting for at least the past 12 months, possibly longer, and I’m not seeing the results that are often posted on this subreddit. I’d love to know if other people have experienced the same issues and what they were able to change to get better results.

The biggest issue is that I’m not actually losing weight. However, I am noticeably thinner, my clothes fit better and I feel better. So those are all wins but after 12 months there’s literally been no change in weight? That seems odd. I know everyone’s different and results will vary but I would expect to see some change in weight during this time period. Kinda makes me think the “eat whatever you want” mantra is oversimplified or I’m missing something.

I do exercise occasionally 1-3 per week and some of that is weight lifting but not to the extent that would cause me to lose fat and replace it all with heavier muscle.

Here’s the background on what I’ve been doing:

Would love any tips that the community could provide

Thanks

Answer

I don’t ascribe to “eat whatever you want” in the eating window. There are benefits to IF that go beyond weight loss, and it sounds like your body is slimming down because of them. IME weight loss with IF comes when you eat fewer calories than your TDEE.
