Will 10 cal, 0 carb beef broth break my fast? Ty in advance!
Depends on what theory of intermittent fasting you go for.
If you’re going for whichever body metabolism mechanism that only occurs after x amount of hours of fasting, then yes, even 10 calories will break the fast(most broth are 30-50cal/cup)
If you’re using intermittent fasting as a means to keep you on track for CICO(Calories In Calories Out), then it wouldn’t be an issue as long as you kept to your daily caloric goals.
On one hand, it’s still protein so your body does have to work to digest it (ie hormones go to work which might technically break your fast.)
On the other hand, long term, it doesn’t matter.
But is that 10 calories actually worth it? Do you really need it then? Can it wait for your eating window?
If you can not have it, that’ll be best with regards to IF.
