Question on fiber-coffee shake

Hi- using 16:8 to complement “lazy” keto. When I have tried to drink only black coffee or tea I get nasty jitters, and have to skip morning supplements. So I’ve started having my coffee in a fiber shake with glucomanan powder, acacia fiber, collagen, ice, and a splash of cream. All of the additives except cream are zero carb and approaching zero calories. Will I sustain a fast (or the benefits of a fast) with this shortcut? Or will this trigger an insulin surge? Interested in sustaining both weight loss and autophagy. Thanks!

Answer

You’re making yourself a calorie/fiber filled shake. The food processing factory that is your body has to turn on all the lights and all the equipment to process this delivery. It’s only mostly empty boxes on the pallet, but you still have to process it. (This is an analogy. I hope you get that)

Go back to plain coffee but make it with half coffee and half hot water. Or start with watered down half caffeine coffee. Or just do hot water. And save any supplements you think you need for the eating window
